How to Spice Up Your Guitar Practices

Practice is the foundation of what makes you a better player. However, practice can get boring and Practice is the foundation of what makes you a better player. However, practice can get boring and I understand that, so here are some ways to make your practice sessions more exciting.


Let’s say you’re practicing your scales, that’s awesome! But why do we practice our scales? So we can solo of course! Running a straight scale is perfect for both muscle memory and getting more familiar with the fretboard.


To make it more fun and “solo-like”, take the scale pattern you're most comfortable with and start mixing up the notes in a different order than you’re used to. This exercise will get you started on coming up with some original guitar licks! You can even play what you have made up on guitar over some backing tracks that are on YouTube and have some fun!
